Description:

The Photography and Digital Imaging program integrates the latest developments in digital photo technology while maintaining an emphasis on traditional photographic skills such as composition, exposure, camerawork and lighting. Coursework covers metering and lighting techniques, portraiture, product, studio and location photography. You will use digital SLR cameras, high-end digital capture backs and the latest in digital capture technology. The complete digital workflow process is covered, from input to file management through image output. The program will encourage your creativity and individualized expression. You will graduate with a professional portfolio and working knowledge of the professional photographic industry.

General Education Courses (15 Credits):

To complete the Photography and Digital Imaging A.A.S. degree, students are required to successfully complete 15 credits of General Education coursework.  This coursework must include a minimum of three credits from MnTC Goal Area 1 and three credits from MnTC Goal Areas, 7, 8, 9 or 10. PHOT 1100 is recommended and is a MnTC Goal Area 6 course.

Program Elective Courses (6 Credits):

Choose any PHDI, GRPH, WEBI or Cinema Division production courses that are not already required for degree completion.

All students pursuing this award should work closely with their advisor to ensure proper selection of required program courses, if applicable program electives, required Minnesota Transfer Curriculum courses, and MnTC electives. You are expected to meet with your advisor on a regular basis to ensure courses are taken in an order that will lead to efficient and successful completion of the required coursework.
