Description:
This course serves as a foundation to design by exploring basic design theory, vocabulary, principles, practices and creative problem-solving. You will learn design fundamentals both traditional and digital media, images, and relationship between typography and other visual elements while developing layouts for the new media environment.

3. 3. Describe the stages and parts of a layout
4. 4. Demonstrate critical thinking while developing concepts to be used in a design project
5. 5. Utilize both traditional and new media concepts to solve design problems
6. 6. Demonstrate the steps in the psychological model of the creative process
Prerequisites:
Placement score into READ 1300 or completion of READ 0200 or ESOL 0052. It is Strongly recommended that students either place into MATH 0070 or successfully complete MATH 0060.
