Description: A follow-up to Authoring 1, this course will introduce you to cutting-edge issues concerning HTML and related technologies. XML, XHTML, site accessibility, and CSS2 will be covered. JavaScript is revisited. Web design for alternative devices (wireless, WebTV, aural browsers) will be discussed. You will author and troubleshoot webpages and complete at least one website.

1. 1. Understand and describe the roles of the various components and tools have in the development of distributed client/server intranet and internet applications
2. 2. Implement a website using HTML 5
3. 3. Create valid Web pages using XHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language) and Cascading Style sheets which include images, hyperlinks, formatted lists, tables, forms, image maps, meta tags, frames
4. 4. Create dynamic web pages by creating client-side scripts that use the Document Object Model and Event triggers
5. 5. Create and use XML (Extensible Markup Language), DTD (Document Type Definitions, and XSL (Extensible Stylesheet) files to move data between the Web Browser and Server and bind XML objects to a variety of web page elements
6. 6. Understand and describe the basic e-business and e-commerce web application models

WEBI 1416, WEBI 1611, WEBI 1911.
