Description: This course explores the poetic themes, forms, and styles of the major women poets of the world, including English and non-English writers in translation. You will also examine the relationship between language, creative expression and power as they are experienced by women poets around the world.

3. 3. Respond critically to poetry by women from among the major literary traditions

5. 5. Articulate an informed personal response to the poetry of women poets from around the world
6. 6. Describe and discuss women’s truths and concerns as articulated by their poetry
