Description: This course is designed to give you hands-on experience in the production of a play. You will first study the different types of theater and theater production, and the different ways that sets, costumes, lights, props and sound affect dramatic interpretation. You will work on a play during the semester, either the main stage production or one of the all-student lab theater projects in one or more of the following production areas: acting, assistant directing, stage managing, costuming, lighting, scene designing and construction, box office operating, publicizing and/or promoting. You will also critique the effectiveness of the production and your work on it. This course may be repeated for a total of four credits.

5. 5. Manage offstage theater operations of stage management, box office, house management, publicity and promotion

Prerequisites: 

Placement score into READ 0200 or placement score into ESOL 0052 or completion of READ 0100 or ESOL 0042 with faculty recommendation into ESOL 0052.
