Description: This course focuses on mastering the dramatic narrative structure through a combination of lectures, scene rewrites from movies, location scenes and analysis of professional screenplays with detailed comparison to the produced movies. You will analyze two professional scripts and one short student script, rewrite several scenes from produced features and develop two scripts based on visited locations.

1. 1. Thoroughly analyze a short or feature film with emphasis on structure
2. 2. Compare a finished feature to its existing script, analyze the reasons for modifications
3. 3. Re-write from the screen selected feature film scenes, including directions and dialogue, and according to the master-scene format and requirements
4. 4. Compare and evaluate written scenes with their equivalent in the movie
5. 5. Write six-page scripts for student production purposes

Prerequisites: 

CIPR 1102, CIST 1102, SCRN 1102 and ENGL 1111.


Co-requisites: 

SCRN 2104.
