Description: In this course, you will develop touch-control of the keyboard and proper keyboarding techniques; build speed and accuracy; and practice applying basic skills to the formatting of letters, reports, memos, tables, emails and other kinds of business communication. The keyboarding goal will be to attain a minimum speed of 40 WPM with five errors or fewer on a five-minute timing. Must be taken A-F.

Learning Outcomes:
1. 1. Type a minimum of 45 words per minute with 5 or less errors without watching their fingers while they type
2. 2. Demonstrate correct technique for typing
3. 3. Type and edit a business email, business letter, memo, report, and table using Microsoft Word

Prerequisites: 

Placement score into READ 1300 or completion of READ 0200 or ESOL 0052. It is strongly recommended that students can touch type 25 WPM or successful completion of a high school keyboarding course.
