Description: This course offers a highly individualized approach to developing career management skills. You will create resumes, write cover letters and thank you letters, complete job application forms, utilize the Internet in your job search, and participate in an employment interview. Consideration will also be given to critical attitudes needed for career success. Must be taken A-F.

1. 1. Job Shadow a person in the your area of interest
2. 2. Research and analyze job postings, companies, hiring managers, industry, benefits, and salary to determine whether it will be a good fit for you
3. 3. Create a job search portfolio consisting of: a networking list, a LinkedIn profile, a personal reference list, transcript, cover letter, resume, interview do and don'ts, interview follow-up thank you note, and networking email
4. 4. Be prepared and feel confident for a job interview by studying examples of questions, possible answers, behavior, appropriate dress, necessary follow-up, what to bring with you, making small talk, and planning ahead to be on time
5. 5. Speak to the duties and culture of your particular job interest area by participating in a job shadow
6. 6. Understand the legal concepts around employment
