American Sign Language 2 (AMSL 1100)

Total Credits:  4   Lecture Credits:  4  
Description:  This course is an extension of ASL 1. You will continue to learn ASL vocabulary, structure, syntax and grammar with a focus on mastering the basics of fingerspelling, numbers, colors, facial grammar and sentence structure. You will also continue to learn about Deaf culture, including Deaf humor.
Prerequisites:  AMSL 1000

American Sign Language 3 (AMSL 2000)

Total Credits:  4   Lecture Credits:  4  
Description:  This course continues building ASL skills learned in ASL 1 and 2. You will examine grammatical features of ASL such as descriptive and location classifier hand shapes. You will also learn advanced sentence structure and use of space and continue building vocabulary. You will have the opportunity to create and perform stories and role plays in ASL for feedback.
Prerequisites:  AMSL 1100
